Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has dropped an update on one forgotten player.

excellent and not so excellent players were brought to Hillsborough by former manager Xisco Munoz. Perhaps the best of the group were Djeidi Gassama, Anthony Musaba, and Di’Shon Bernard.
Juan Delgado, nevertheless, is one player who has definitely had difficulty since joining S6.
After making ten Championship games, the Chilean international, who had previously played for Portuguese team Pacos de Ferreira, sustained a hip injury that has kept him out of action since the beginning of October.

Danny Rohl says Juan Delgado may never play for Sheffield Wednesday again

Before this weekend’s Championship matchup against Bristol City, Rohl provided an update on Delgado’s injuries in an interview with The Star.

It feels like an unending story at times. Though he’s working hard in the gym, I think it’s incredibly difficult to see him. We will have to wait in this instance as he hasn’t yet reached the point of team training.

“There might be a chance, but it’s also possible that he won’t be able to play on Wednesday. Right now, it’s hard to predict what will occur within the upcoming months.

Although Delgado’s Sheffield Wednesday contract was not made public, it is possible that the wide player signed a one-year contract last summer and will be eligible for release this summer based on Rohl’s remarks above.

A tough situation, but that’s football

Delgado appears to be dealing with a persistent injury that might sideline a player for an extended period of time.

HULL, ENGLAND – AUGUST 12: Juan Delgado of Sheffield Wednesday warms up ahead of kick-off during the Sky Bet Championship match between Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday at MKM Stadium on August 12, 2023 in Hull, England.

And considering the circumstances, it’s regrettable that he won’t have the opportunity to earn a new contract before his current expires in the summer.

Delgado made ten appearances for Sheffield Wednesday, although he was mainly inconsistent. However, Delgado never made an appearance for Rohl, despite the fact that, like many other players, he had a great chance to succeed under the German.

With his ability to play as a winger, wing-back, and possibly even on either flank, Delgado is a quick player with strong control. These qualities could have been very helpful for Sheffield Wednesday in the second half of the season.

However, Rohl’s remark that Delgado might never play for Wednesday again seems to imply that he will not be playing for Wednesday again until the summer and that it will take some time for him to get fit again.

If Delgado does not show any indications of returning to action anytime soon, the club may have to be brutal with him. After that, Delgado may have a difficult time going forward.
