Peterborough United waiting on Kwame Poku injury before play-offs

Peterborough Before facing Oxford United in the first leg of the play-off semi-final, United are awaiting word on the health of  a crucial wide player.

The 22-year-old missed the last three games of the season due to an ankle injury, although he did record 11 goals and seven assists during the regular Sky Bet League One season.

On April 16, the Posh defeated Fleetwood Town 4-1. It was the club’s first game after being thrashed 5-0 by Des Buckingham’s United. Poku entered as a substitute, but he hasn’t played since.

The Peterborough Telegraph was informed by Posh manager Darren Ferguson that Kwame is looking excellent, but a late decision will be made regarding him.

“Given the prospect of two more games, we cannot afford to take any chances.

But, David Ajiboye has performed admirably on the right side in Kwame’s absence. With him, I’ve been really content. He has adopted a very methodical approach.

“His style of play differs greatly from Kwame’s, but he has been very reliable for us.”

The one injury concern for the Posh is with striker Jacob Wakeling, who has only made eight league appearances this season, all of which have come from the bench.
