Gustavo Nascimento to Represent Charlotte FC in eMLS 2024 Season

Details for the forthcoming eMLS 2024 season, which include players for 22 teams that reflect the league’s global expansion and a new competitive platform, were unveiled today by Major League Soccer (MLS) and EA SPORTS FC Pro.

Gustavo Nascimento will play for Charlotte FC in the upcoming season, the Club can confirm. Gustavo has demonstrated constant excellence in North America. He placed fourth in the 2023 FGS Qualifier #4 and finished in the top six in both the North American FC Pro Open and North American Global Series.

In 2024, eMLS will usher in a new age of football esports with FC Pro, and EA SPORTS FCTM 24 will make its debut as the official platform for all eMLS matches. Two major League Series events in February and March will round off the competitive schedule, which will finish on March 10 in Austin during South by Southwest (SXSW) with the eMLS Cup.

Each MLS club or player’s Twitch and YouTube channel will air the remote qualifications and group stages of each League Series, and viewers may follow the bracket for each event on Twitch ( and YouTube ( The top 12 players still playing for each league broadcast, along with expanded fan coverage, will be featured. Direct invites to the FC Pro World Championship are granted to the top two players in the eMLS Cup.


The season format will be as follows:

  • eMLS League Series 1: The 2024 season kicks off on Feb. 16 with remote qualifiers followed by the group stage on Feb. 17 and bracket final on Feb. 18.
  • eMLS League Series 2: The season continues March 1 with remote qualifiers, the group stage on March 2 and bracket final on March 3.
  • eMLS Cup: The season will conclude in Austin at SXSW, with the group stage on March 9 and the fan-facing live bracket final on March 10 at ACL Live.
