Tireless attack fronts up again as Aussies name XI

Although Pat Cummins has disclosed his starting lineup for the opening Test matchup with New Zealand, the Kiwis have been a touch more evasive.

Australia will use the same bowling unit for the sixth straight Test, dating back to the home summer opener against Pakistan in Perth, now that their starting XI has been confirmed.

Since then, there has only been one alteration to the starting lineup: all-rounder Cameron Green was called up for the two-Test NRMA Insurance series against West Indies due to David Warner’s retirement from the five-day format. Steve Smith was moved up to the opening position, and Green took Smith’s place at number four.

Australia XI: Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitch Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

Possible New Zealand XI: Tom Latham, Will Young, Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell (wk), Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Tim Southee (c), Will O’Rourke
