Melbourne City midfielder handed big ban for full-time incident:

After a Football Australia disciplinary hearing, Melbourne City midfielder Tolgay Arslan will miss the team’s next two Isuzu UTE A-League games.

After City’s 4-2 away loss to Perth Glory on February 2, Arslan was dismissed for “Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures against a Match Official.”

Arslan has already completed one game of a three-match obligatory suspension after missing City’s 5-1 loss to Brisbane Roar in Round 16. However, he will miss Saturday night’s Melbourne Derby against Melbourne Victory as well as their matchup with Sydney FC in Round 18.

The 33-year-old will return for City’s March 1 encounter against Macarthur FC; yet, he is entitled to file an appeal against the penalty.

Arslan now has seven days as of right now to file an appeal with Football Australia’s independent Appeals Committee against the committee’s conclusions, should he so choose.
