It’s nice to be kind – Millers celebrate ‘Random acts of kindness’

How do we change the world? One random act of kindness at a time…

As part of our Random Act of Kindness Day, tonight’s Sky Bet Championship matchup with Hull City has been devoted to reinforcing that message.

A random act of kindness, no matter how big or tiny, can make someone smile. It can be directed towards a friend, family member, or even a complete stranger.

During the coronavirus pandemic, there was a particularly strong message that we should focus our efforts on “being kind” to one another. Although things have returned to “normal” since then, it is crucial to keep in mind the significant influence that our actions towards others can have.

We have designated this evening’s game as our Random Act of Kindness Day in order to make sure that we never stop bringing attention to the importance of showing kindness to others.

We have our very own Random Act of Kindness campaign here at AESSEAL New York Stadium, where fans of all ages are chosen at random from the crowd to participate in an unforgettable “experience that money can’t buy” prior to every home game.

Fans have been privileged to behind-the-scenes access over the years, which has included flag-bearing to welcome the teams onto the pitch, watching the warm-ups from the comfort of the dugouts, seeing players from the past and present and even leading the team out as mascot.

It really is that easy to increase your chances of being chosen: simply arrive at AESSEAL New York Stadium early!

Then, to participate, staff members of Rotherham United Community Trust select a fan at random from the stands.

Pictures of supporters who have participated in our Random Acts of Kindness programme this season can be found strewn over this page.

REMEMBER, IT’S NICE TO BE KIND!
