German international training with Sheffield Wednesday after Borussia Dortmund exit

Former Borussia Dortmund defender, Nico Schulz, is believed to have been training with Sheffield Wednesday.

The 30-year-old is now without a club after departing Dortmund last summer when the Bundesliga team canceled his contract after a turbulent period on and off the field. He hasn’t found a new residence as of yet.

The left back has reportedly spent some time at Middlewood Road this month, although it’s unclear if he’s there for training or on trial. At this moment, there has also been no announcement on any plans to bring him on board.

Though he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, Schulz is scheduled to appear in court this month, according to reports in the German media. He was charged with severe bodily harm.

Regarding the procedures that are scheduled to start on February 28th, Detective Michael Tebbe stated that it was “about suspicion of grievous bodily harm.” He has already refuted any criminal allegations brought against him.

Following injuries, Röhl stated earlier this month to The Star that they might be searching for a new left back. He said, “We are looking into the market, but the market is really special.” We’ll have to see how long Kristian Pedersen and Akin Famewo are out before we know if we’ll find someone. We have a fresh scenario at this position, and Marvin (Johnson) needs to step up. This is the predicament we find ourselves in.

“We keep our eyes forward at all times. I am now pressing the subject, but my attention is on my team and the players I currently have. Of course, we are searching; Kevin Beadell, Head of Recruitment, is going through the free agents.
