Nikola Jokic flames Luka Doncic after NBA All-Star Game

Big player Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets isn’t known as the “Joker” for nothing. One of his most remarkable traits off the court is his sense of humor, which he once again displayed following the 2024 NBA All-Star Game against Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

“Luka [Doncic] is terrible. Luka is really bad for this game. He’s worse than me. 100%,” Jokic told reporters after the game.

The big man for the Nuggets was obviously playing around, since in addition to being excellent basketball players, he and Donic are close friends.

Jokic and Doncic are, of course, two of the NBA’s current faces. Jokic and Doncic are both from Serbia and Slovenia, respectively, and their contributions go beyond the NBA as they guarantee the sport’s appeal on a worldwide scale.

At the All-Star Game, though, the two were unable to contribute enough to the Western Conference team’s victory. In just 23 minutes of play, the Nuggets center had four rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and only 13 points of his own. Doncic, on the other hand, played 23 minutes of floor time and contributed seven points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in the West’s 211-186 loss against Damian Lillard and the East All-Stars.

Jokic won’t be as shaken by the defeat as the current Nuggets losing streak most likely will be. Before the All-Star Break, Denver dropped its previous three games in a row. The Nuggets host the Washington Wizards on Thursday in an attempt to break out of their current funk.
