Michael Carrick reveals unhappy Middlesbrough situation despite Leicester City win

Middlesbrough’s triumph at the King Power Stadium is discussed by Michael Carrick in the most recent Leicester City news from LeicestershireLive.

After Middlesbrough’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Championship leaders Leicester stopped a four-game losing streak, Michael Carrick complimented the team’s extraordinary spirit.

After Lewis O’Brien squared the ball to Finn Azaz, who finished coolly into the top left corner to break the tie in the twenty-fourth minute, then Samuel Silvera scored with a powerful shot eight minutes before halftime, Boro won the league double against the Foxes.

With five minutes remaining, a cross in behind from Tom Cannon found Jamie Vardy in the bottom left corner of the net, but Boro hung on to win at King Power Stadium and give the Foxes their first home loss since November.

After only their second league win since the year’s beginning, Carrick believes his team still has plenty more to give and that the visitors are only seven points outside of the play-off spots.

Carrick stated: “It’s not easy because we’ve taken a few hits lately, but the spirit was incredible. The boys understood it tactically and were so eager to carry it out. The will to win was there.”

“It doesn’t surprise me; the boys are an amazing group to work with, so I’m just glad they had something go their way for a change.

There was almost a sense that we could have scored one or two more goals and made it a little bit easier; they had chances towards the end, but there’s a good sense that that is still not enough, we want some more. The players are excited to play and are content but no

“They put five across their top line, and we played very similar to how we played at home against them. It was just different personnel, and the boys did their specific jobs unbelievably well, so I was really pleased that they took that into consideration.”t overly happy, which is good.
