Sad news:Mother and daughter killed and man dies in crash in linked incidents

Emergency crews raced to Kilmarnock Lidl this afternoon following a crash.

Following a collision outside an Ayrshire shop today, a man was transported to the hospital.

Emergency personnel, comprising law enforcement and ambulance units, hastened to the location adjacent to Kilmarnock Lidl, near the intersection of High Glencairn Street and Low Glencairn Street.

After the accident at around 1pm, paramedics transported a man to the hospital.

An eyewitness described how two automobiles were clearly damaged and debris was strewn across the road.

It appears that the crash also damaged a pedestrian guardrail, which has now been dismantled and a temporary guard erected in its place.

The crash is still being investigated, according to the police.

A spokesman for Police Scotland stated: “We were alerted to a report of a crash on Low Glencairn Street, Kilmarnock, at approximately 1pm on Friday, February 16, 2024.

“After emergency personnel arrived, an ambulance took one man to the hospital.

There will be closures and limits on a major stretch of the Ayr A77 for a two-week resurfacing operation.
