After Sheffield Wednesday’s thrilling victory over Birmingham City on Friday night, Danny Röhl praised the team’s fervor and discussed his part in reducing fan dissatisfaction at S6.
In what was the biggest demonstration of opposition to Owls ownership to far, thousands of supporters on Wednesday raised bright yellow fliers into the air in front of the Sky television cameras before the well-earned 2-0 victory to express their disapproval of chairman Dejphon Chansiri’s leadership. Following six games without a victory in all competitions, the German coach was questioned about the protest after his team’s victory moved them back to within five points of the safety zone.
“I gave the game my whole attention today,” Röhl stated to The Star. “I made some remarks in the media. We are here, yet the reason I am here is also this. We need to come together, so I want to make some changes and bring everyone together. Here is where I’ve began my process, and I’m hoping to finish it in the upcoming weeks and months. Together, we can accomplish our aims.
“We have a great club with great supporters. This passion here in this city is, for me, outstanding. What I can do is bring good results and good results are always helping because everybody is more positive instead of thinking negative.”
