The 4 Bolton Wanderers players announce to leave as a free agent this summer

After only missing out on promotion to the Championship the previous season, Bolton Wanderers is aiming for it this time around.
This summer, as free agents, Cameron Jerome and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are expected to depart the team.
While Jerome has mostly been used as a substitute and his future at the club is unknown, Bodvarsson has struggled to establish a regular role in the team and will need to impress to earn a new contract.

Bolton Wanderers is still working at finishing this season in the Championship.

Last season, Bolton was one win away from potentially getting promoted to the Championship until Barnsley eliminated them from the play-off semifinals.

Although the club was disappointed by it, it has motivated them to improve even more this time. The Lancashire team entered the season as the clear favorites to advance, and they are performing to that expectation thus far, competing for the championship and automatic promotion.

The team recently concluded another transfer window, during which they added a few new players they believe will improve their prospects of moving up. However, even though football will once again take center stage, the club still has some contractual obligations.

After spending a few seasons on the periphery of Millwall, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson signed a free transfer to join the Trotters in January 2022.

The Icelandic international has had difficulty securing a regular position at Bolton; during his first two seasons there, he participated in 21 League One games in addition to other cup tournaments.

Due to his injury struggles from the previous season, Dadi Bodvarsson’s future after the season was uncertain.
