Draymond Green of the Warriors is Jonathan Kuminga’s ultimate hype man.
For the remainder of the regular season, the Golden State Warriors (20–24) will probably be scrubbing it in an attempt to qualify for the NBA playoffs. They have to be able to rely on their youngsters to maintain the pace required to mount such a second-half charge. Without a doubt, Jonathan Kuminga is contributing.
In just 39 minutes, the 21-year-old forward wowed the Chase Center with an incredible stat line that included 26 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block. He has scored 20 points or more for the eighth straight game as the Warriors defeated the injured 76ers, 119-107. The only player to finish with more, Stephen Curry, was unconscious (37, 12-of-17 shooting).
Kuminga’s mentor, Draymond Green, shared what he regularly reminds the third-year player to keep him motivated. Green said, via ClutchPoints (formerly KNBR), “There’s nobody in the world that can stop you,” and he then came to believe it. And he proceeds to demonstrate that nobody in the world can stop him.
Kuminga’s confidence was evident in the game against Philly, as shown by the numerous vicious dunks he hammered down. Fans thought there would be a breakthrough because of his athleticism. The Warriors’ faith in him was confirmed by their decision to choose him with a top-10 overall pick, and their patience has paid off.
Jonathan Kuminga has established himself as a vital player on this team even though he is still growing. It would be a gut-punch for the Warriors if they are unable to force themselves into the NBA Play-In Tournament or the playoffs this year. This could result in significant offseason adjustments. However, there is at least cause for optimism that they may eventually be able to rebuild their lives.
